"I'm continually thankful of the great Canadian spirit of volunteerism in the hundreds of people who volunteer to Make Media Accessible," says David Errington, President and CEO of Accessible Media Inc. - AMI (formerly NBRS) VoicePrint, The Accessible Channel - TACtv.
David Errington continues: "Without our volunteers, we simply could not exist. We can't thank them enough for their dedication and commitment to giving their time and talents to ensure that the more than 5-million Canadians who are blind, low vision or print-restricted can continue to hear in-depth and current articles from leading Canadian publications."
AMI's 2010 Regional Volunteer Ambassador campaign is designed to coincide with National Volunteer Week, April 19 to 23, 2010.
Our goal: to choose exemplary representatives of all the fine work our volunteers do to help produce the almost 30,000 hours annually of spoken-word recordings of thousands of articles from more than 600 of Canada's top newspapers and magazines.
A series of events will be held at AMI's Local Broadcast Centres across Canada to honour all our volunteers during National Volunteer Week.
