ACCIONA NAMED TO WINDSOR-ESSEX PARKWAY CONSTRUCTION TEAM
ACCIONA will build and operate on a concession basis the Windsor Essex Parkway, in Windsor, ON
- The Windsor Essex Mobility Group consortium, in which ACCIONA has a 33.33 % share, will build and manage the most significant single highway investment made in Ontario's history
- The Windsor Essex Parkway project includes, an 11 kilometre highway on a concession basis, an environmental action programme to construct service roads, green zones and walking and cycling paths and preserve the environment
- The project will generate 12,000 jobs in the Windsor region
TORONTO, Nov. 5 /CNW/ - The Windsor Essex Mobility Group consortium, with ACCIONA Infrastructures, ACS Group and Fluor having equal shares, has been awarded the development of the Windsor Essex Parkway project in the province of Ontario, Canada.
The Windsor-Essex Parkway will connect Highway 401 in Ontario to Interstate 75 in Michigan, by way of a new Canadian inspection plaza and bridge crossing being constructed by the Federal Government in West Windsor. The Windsor-Essex Parkway will be publicly owned and controlled. It will not be a tolled road.

ACCIONA will participate with its partners in the three Joint Ventures:
- Concession JV as Equity Investor and Debt Arranger,
- Design and build JV as General Contractor and
- Operations and Maintenance JV for the operation and maintenance of the road.
In the last three years in Canada, ACCIONA won bids for five major construction projects: the Nouvelle Autoroute 30 in Montreal, QC, the Royal Jubilee Hospital Patient Care Centre in Victoria, BC, the Fort Saint John Hospital and Residential Care Project, the South East Stoney Trail in Calgary, AB and now the Windsor-Essex Parkway in Windsor, ON.
