Acision Appoints Adolfo Hernandez as its New Chief Executive
Former Alcatel-Lucent Executive joins Acision to accelerate the company's IP messaging, commercial services and enterprise strategy and expand its value in mobile ecosystem
READING, England, July 23, 2013 /CNW/ - Acision, a global leader in mobile messaging, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Adolfo Hernandez to Chief Executive, succeeding Jorgen Nilsson, who recently stepped down from the business. In his new role, the former Alcatel-Lucent (EPA:ALU) Executive will focus on the day-to-day leadership of the company to ensure Acision can capitalise on the growing opportunities in the mobile market, while boosting customer engagement, influencing its sales efforts, striving for operational excellence and inspiring innovation, as well as steering the company's product portfolio in line with market drivers.
Hernandez will assume his new position from 19th August 2013, reporting directly to Acision's Executive Chairman, Didier Bench, who commented: "It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Adolfo to head up Acision's day-to-day operations as we make significant strides in building on our market leading position in messaging and executing on our business strategy to deliver world leading IP messaging infrastructure and business analytics solutions, as well as commercial mobile and enterprise engagement services. Hernandez brings a wealth of leadership experience to Acision, having worked in senior executive roles for many years, and will be invaluable as he continues to deliver on the work initiated by Jorgen, providing new vision and direction as the company transforms to:
- Accelerate and effectively execute on its IP Messaging, Commercial Services and Enterprise Strategy.
- Penetrate new markets and increase its value in the mobile ecosystem
- Deliver on its customers' requirements by developing best in class products and services and exceeding market expectations

Prior to Acision, Adolfo spent four years at Alcatel-Lucent (EPA:ALU), with his most recent position being Executive Vice President, Global Software Services and Solutions, where he was also an instrumental member of the Executive Committee, reporting to the Group CEO. In this role, Adolfo was responsible for all of Alcatel-Lucent's software application solutions and services business globally, and headed up their strategic industry domains across utilities, transportation and government managing support, operational, professional and consulting services teams. Adolfo also held senior management roles at Sun Microsystems, Inc (NASDAQ: SUNW), where he was responsible for all aspects of its services business around the world. He also spent eight years with IBM (NYSE:IBM) in London and Munich where he held a variety of sales leadership positions in the areas of eBusiness and Open Systems.
