ACRC and affiliate locals donate $133,000 to help Fort McMurray
SACKVILLE, NS, June 23, 2016 /CNW/ - The Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights and Allied Workers made a donation of $133,000 to assist their fellow Brothers and Sisters in Fort McMurray, Alta. This amount has generously been donated through the council and its affiliate locals.
Alberta, and particularly the Fort McMurray area, has been, at times, temporary homes to many of our members as they travel to work in the area and we are pleased to be able to assist in its rebuilding.
The donation will be distributed through the Building Trades of Alberta. Our thanks to all those volunteers and organizations that are coordinating the donation process to get the people of the area much needed resources.
The Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights and Allied Workers is part of one of North America's largest building-trades unions, with nearly half a million members in the construction and wood-products industries.
