ACSESS Celebrates Staffing for Canada Week June 1 - 7, 2015

MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 1, 2015 /CNW/ - Temporary employees and candidates together with industry professionals from across the country will be celebrating Staffing for Canada Week from June 1-7, 2015!

First introduced in Edmonton in 1980 as "National Temporaries' Week", this celebration has become widely recognized in both Canada and the United States, based on the dramatic growth in the numbers of contract and temporary workers contributing to the skilled labour force in all industry sectors.

The celebration is supported by local dignitaries and Canada's Political leaders. ACSESS is proud of the endorsements received each year from the Prime Minister of Canada and Provincial Premiers. In 2015, Prime Minister Harper has extended the following message to the staffing profession:

"This event is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the staffing industry's many contributions to Canada's labour market. Playing a leadership role, this industry provides its clients with valuable advice in the area of human resources, as well as offering them a skilled and diverse workforce to help them grow their businesses. In this way, staffing agencies provide employment to thousands of Canadians and help to make our economy more competitive and prosperous…"

The purpose of the Celebration is to acknowledge the over 400,000 Canadians who are employed through the staffing profession.  With more than 1,300 member offices across Canada, ACSESS members represent 85 percent of the total volume of business in the staffing services industry in Canada.  Member firms are involved in every staffing niche from temporary and contract staffing to direct hire and professional search.
