Active retirees have fun under the sun: Chartwell residents feel the summer beat at the Beachclub in Pointe-Calumet Français
MONTRÉAL, July 9, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - More than 400 Chartwell Retirement Residences retirees and staff took part in the most anticipated annual event: the coveted celebration under the sun at the Beachclub in Pointe-Calumet.
The Beachclub offered residents an opportunity to gather and take advantage of the weather by finding a spot at the beach, dancing, or simply resting in the shade. In addition to swimming, shaded areas allowed guests to enjoy a little break from the sun while jets of water refreshed the dancers and tireless residents at all times.
The highlight of the day was a musical performance by special guest Joël Denis, offering a special sneak peek of his upcoming show, Formidable.
"At Chartwell, we believe in active living at every age", said Sébastien Chartier, General Manager of Chartwell L'Unique in Saint-Eustache and the visionary of the event for the past three years. "Faithful to our mission of Making People's Life Better, we created an event allowing them to enjoy the summer in comfort and safety," he added.
What's better than diving into the fun of an outing to the beach and a BBQ to celebrate the summer? "As a young 67 year-old retiree, this is my first experience at Chartwell's Beachclub event and I can tell you we had a great day!" commented Huguette Dupuis, resident of Chartwell Montcalm in Candiac. "We had access to the pool, the lake, the paddle boat and a bit of wind. I even made friends with Chartwell residents from all over the province, and performer Joël Denis brought a lot of energy, what else could I ask for!" she added.
