Activities Along the Trans Canada Trail to Celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Confederation Français
The Government of Canada supports activities on the Trans Canada Trail on August 26, 2017
OTTAWA, April 28, 2017 /CNW/ - The Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, today announced funding of $1 million for activities to be held along the Trans Canada Trail on August 26, 2017. Minister McKenna made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.
The Trans Canada Trail Foundation's project Celebrations on The Great Trail will mark the country-wide connection of the Great Trail and the 150th anniversary of Confederation.
The Government of Canada is providing this funding through the Canada 150 Fund. Through the Fund, the government supports local, regional and Canada-wide activities designed to give Canadians across the country an opportunity to join in the celebrations, and to make 2017 an unforgettable year.
