PERTH, Western Australia, Oct. 5 /CNW/ - Over the 4 weeks to 30 September 2010 considerable progress has been made on site with construction and exploration. The first phase of grade control drilling at Nugget Hill and Teberu was completed. Plant construction continued to ramp up, as did infrastructure projects associated with roads, tailings and water storage as follows:
- Mine Area Declaration approved by Mineral Commission; - Construction works on the Nugget Hill to ROM pad road completed, tailings dam to Nugget Hill roadworks continue; - Water storage dam wall is finished on the western side and nears completion on the east; - Tailings storage clearing completed; - Excavation of the Ankobra pipe trench completed and the pipe fully installed; - Phase I road construction continues with 4.6km of road completed. Phase II road clearing continues; - Power poles moved to Phase I road and installation of poles has commenced; - Ankobra pump control panel installed, panel deck and cage near completion; - Ordering of operational spares has commenced whilst the electrical operational spares list has been finalised, and first fill reagents ordered; - SAG Mill is floating (hydro dynamically) on bearings and SAG Mill lube units have been installed; - Installation of crusher flywheels and motor completed; - 415V and HV Switchroom buildings punch listed and completed; - 415V MCC installation underway; - Workshop steel 65% erected; - Goldroom pedestals completed and backfilled; - Transfer station final lift formwork stripped; - CIL tanks completed; - CV03 slabs poured; - Reagents shed steel erection commence; - Committed some US$96m in expenditure of which we have paid US$68m.
Nzema remains on track for first gold pour in Q1 2011.
In the period to 30 October 2010, Adamus will be targeting the following at its Nzema Gold Project:
- Continue tailings dam construction; - Install Ankobra River pump and commission pipeline; - Finish installing culverts for Phase 1 Access Road; - Finish clearing right of way for the Essiama to Phase 1 section of powerline; - Complete top of CIL tank steel installation - Commencing erection of plantsite Administration Building; - Complete CV03 civil works - Fit the SAG Mill Ring Gear and install the SAG Mill Main Motor.
