FAIRFAX, VA, Sept. 21, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) today announced that Genesee County, MI has signed a five-year contract to use CGI Advantage360®, a software as a service (SaaS) enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.
Earlier this year, CGI was selected by the Michigan Municipal Services Authority (MMSA) through Michigan's MiDEAL initiative, an extended purchase program allowing local government entities to use state contracts for purchasing goods and services. In Michigan, CGI Advantage360 provides localities, large and small, budget constrained or not, with common access to a proven budget, financial, procurement and human resource management solution at increasingly reduced subscription rates.
Genesee County becomes the latest locality to join this state-wide partnership. Other clients under the MMSA agreement are the City of Grand Rapids and Kent County.
"Several factors made this the right choice for Genesee County," said County Controller Keith Francis. "First, MMSA carefully vetted this solution based on best financial practices for Michigan local governments. Second, CGI Advantage is built for government and addresses our specific needs and concerns for leveraging technology to improve operating efficiency and better serve our customers, the citizens of Genesee County. Lastly, the SaaS approach gives us all of the benefits of ownership without the overhead costs required to operate and maintain a complex enterprise solution. We are excited to join this growing user community."
"We welcome Genesee County to this growing partnership in Michigan and look forward to demonstrating the powerful capabilities of CGI Advantage," said CGI Senior Vice President John Roggemann. "Our innovative, SaaS-based solution provides local government with state of the art tools and best practices packaged uniquely for government," added CGI Advantage Senior Vice President Daniel Keene.
