Equipment upgrades, staff rewards are top choices for $10,000 cash prizes
TORONTO, Nov. 8, 2012 /CNW/ - Upgrading equipment, rewarding staff and thanking customers are among the top things small business owners would invest in if they had some extra cash, according to early entries in ADP Canada's recently launched Small Business Grant Contest.
The company is giving six entrepreneurs $10,000 cash plus payroll services for a year. One winner will be chosen each month for six months starting in December.
Entering the contest is easy. Entrepreneurs share their business story and describe what they would do with $10,000, and then invite their customers, employees, friends and family to show their support by voting for their submission online.
The human capital management company launched the contest earlier this month as a way to show support for small businesses.
"Canada's small businesses are this country's economic engine and we wanted to demonstrate our support in a tangible, meaningful way," said David McIninch, Vice President, Marketing, ADP Canada. "We've had a great response since we launched the contest, and we're excited to see the range in the types of companies entering and the incredible passion they bring to their work".
The Small Business Grant Contest is open to Canadian business owners with 1- 49 employees, and runs from October 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013. A winner will be announced each month.
