Advisory - Health Coalition Raises Concerns about Hamilton/West Lincoln Hospital Restructuring
HAMILTON, ON, June 6, 2016 /CNW/ - Despite a growing population, Hamilton is facing the possibility of multiple hospital site closures, according to plans made public by Rob MacIsaac, president and CEO of Hamilton Health Sciences. The Coalition is also deeply concerned about the future of the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and the range of services provided to the people of Grimsby and the area.
At a press conference on Monday, the Ontario Health Coalition will respond to the redevelopment plan for Hamilton Health Sciences and the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. The Coalition is extremely concerned about possible site closures and the loss of services in these communities, as well as the process by which these decisions are being made. The process needs to include a full and robust public dialogue and meaningful public input before any plan is set. The hospital services provided in these communities must meet the population's needs for care, not be axed as a result of a cuts-driven redevelopment plan.
