Advisory: Calgary Fire Department to Host Live Burn Demo to Showcase Residential Fire Sprinklers

CALGARY, Oct. 18, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, the Calgary Fire Department is hosting a side-by-side burn demonstrating the effectiveness of fire sprinklers in homes at the Fire Training Academy. The event is a collaboration between the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC), The Canadian Automatic Sprinkler Association (CASA), and the Calgary Fire Department.

The demonstration will provide a visual comparison highlighting the difference an automated sprinkler system can make in reducing injuries, saving lives, and minimizing the impact on the environment.

Location:          Fire Training Academy 5727 - 23^rd Avenue S.E.

*Note - Representatives from the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition, the Canadian Automatic Sprinkler Association, and the Calgary Fire Department will also be available for interviews.
