Scouts revitalize a community room, collect donations for local food bank and clean up hiking trails
OTTAWA, April 28, 2014 /CNW/ - Scouts Canada has issued a challenge to all Canadians to join them in doing at least one good turn for someone else and asking the recipient to pay it forward for Good Turn Week from April 26 - May 4. While a good turn can be simple - like holding the door open for someone or buying a coffee for the person in line behind you - groups of Scouts from Toronto and Brampton are taking it to the next level.
TORONTO - APRIL 30
WHAT: | The 1st Centenary Scouts are revamping a community room at the Mornelle Court apartment complex to provide a safe and welcoming place for youth activities. The group will be repairing walls, rebuilding the kitchen, painting and creating a comfortable outdoor learning space for kids to use in the summer months. |

WHAT: | 150 Agincourt Scouts are collecting food donations for the food bank at the Agincourt Community Services Association. Their goal is to fill two 6' x 12' trailers to maximum capacity. The Scouts will kick off their annual parade through the community at the Knox Presbyterian Church. |

- Led by a police escort, 150 Scouts will parade through the Agincourt community with flags and the donated food loaded into two 6' x 12' trailers.

BRAMPTON - MAY 3/4
Scouts from across Brampton, Caledon East and Bolton are working with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority to build benches and clean up the hiking trails at Heart Lake. Their goal is to ensure they are safe for use following the damage caused by the December ice storm.
