Aero Mexico passenger turned over to US authorities
MONTRÉAL, June 1 /CNW Telbec/ - Today at 4:00 p.m., the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) turned over Abdirahman Ali Gaal to US authorities.
On May 30, 2010, Transport Canada re-routed a Paris to Mexico flight to Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport (PET) in Montreal at the request of US authorities. Mr. Gaal, a passenger on the flight, was interviewed by CBSA officers at PET airport and then detained due to inadmissibility to Canada for non-compliance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
