FARNBOROUGH, United Kingdom, July 11, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Aéro Montréal, Quebec's aerospace cluster, signed a framework agreement on collaboration with Pégase, the aerospace cluster of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, during the Farnborough International Airshow.
Suzanne M. Benoît, Aéro Montréal's President, welcomed the initiative saying it will provide numerous benefits to Québec's aerospace industry. "We strongly believe in the potential of exchanges of information about our sector's challenges and best practices, especially as they relate to the development of business opportunities and joint research projects," she said.
"The signing of this collaboration agreement once again demonstrates the leadership and pro-activity of Québec's aerospace industry," added Sam Hamad, Québec Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade. "It represents a new opportunity to share expertise and best practices by strengthening ties with a competitive cluster in our sector."
"We are very pleased to announce this collaborative agreement with Aéro Montréal. We firmly believe in the mutual benefits of this collaborative approach, which will allow us to develop relationships that will benefit both our organizations," said Jean-Yves Longère, CEO of Pôle Pégase.
This agreement involves the exchange of information on the needs and expectations of members of both organizations. It also provides reciprocal support for research projects and the sharing of best practices for optimizing the supply chain and human resources. This is the second agreement entered into by Aéro Montréal with a French competitiveness cluster after Aerospace Valley in 2007.
