AFN Open Forum on 2015 Federal Election to increase momentum for focus on First Nations priorities: Federal party leaders invited to engage with First Nations

OTTAWA, Oct. 5, 2015 /CNW/ - The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is convening an Open Forum on First Nations and the 2015 Federal Election on October 7, 2015 at the Edmonton Marriott at River Cree Resort in Enoch, Alberta.  The Forum will focus discussion on First Nations priorities and ensure all federal parties are aware of the First Nations agenda.

AFN National Chief Perry Bellegarde will speak to the importance of First Nations priorities and the First Nations vote in the 2015 federal election.  The Forum will feature presentations and discussions with special invited guests and participants, and a strategic session on maintaining momentum throughout and beyond the federal election.  All federal party leaders have been invited to the Open Forum to engage with First Nations and confirmations will be announced as they are received.

This Forum is open to all citizens and will increase momentum for focus on First Nations priorities during the federal election.  The Open Forum is an opportunity to learn, discuss and engage on issues related to the 2015 federal election.

The Open Forum on First Nations and the 2015 Federal Election will be webcast on the AFN website at www.afn.ca.  Media are not required to register.
