AGAPY KAPOURANIS PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL SUBCRIPTION VIDEO ON DEMAND (SVOD) FOR LIONSGATE
Move Positions Company to Further Capitalize on Digital Opportunities throughout the Global Marketplace
SANTA MONICA, Calif., and VANCOUVER, May 10, 2016 /CNW/ -- Reflecting the increasing strategic importance of subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platforms in the global licensing landscape, Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF) has elevated Agapy Kapouranis to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Global Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD), the Company announced today. Ms. Kapouranis will be based at the Company's Santa Monica, California corporate headquarters.
A seasoned industry executive, Ms. Kapouranis will spearhead the licensing of content to SVOD platforms throughout the international marketplace, evaluating the relative merits of global SVOD or market-by-market sales strategies on a case-by-case basis. She will also continue to oversee licensing of the Company's content in Canada. She reports to Lionsgate EVP of North American TV and SVOD Sales Lawrence Szabo and Lionsgate President of International Television & Digital Distribution Peter Iacono.
The Company continues to expand its international presence, licensing a full slate of feature films, nearly 80 television shows on 40 different U.S. networks and a prestigious 16,000-title motion picture and television library to a mix of broadcast, cable, pay television, SVOD and digital platforms worldwide. It recently bolstered its international library through a deal with New Regency Pictures, adding blockbuster titles including The Revenant, The Big Short and Gone Girl.

Ms. Kapouranis previously served as Senior Vice President of Television & Digital Distribution, playing an integral role in identifying windowing opportunities and new business models while managing the North American subscription streaming market.
The executive joined Lionsgate in May 2011 after serving as Vice President of International On-Demand and New Media at MGM Studios.
