Recognizing the value of advice on and off the field
TORONTO, Nov. 12, 2015 /CNW/ - AGF Management Limited (AGF) and the Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today that AGF is the new official sponsor of the CFL's Coach of the Year Award.
This multi-year agreement builds on a partnership and multimedia campaign AGF started with the CFL in the fall of 2014 to promote the value of professional advice.
AGF has always been a strong advocate for the value of financial advice. We believe that Canadians that work with an advisor are better positioned to meet their long term investment goals. Throughout the campaign, we have been delivering this message to millions of CFL fans across Canada.
"Like an advisor, a coach is positioning the team to reach a goal. From the pep talk in the locker room to the last play of the game, they bring value to their team," said Blake C. Goldring, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at AGF Management Limited. "AGF is proud to sponsor the Coach of the Year Award to recognize the advice, hard work and leadership of the CFL's coaches."
Coach Chris Jones from the Edmonton Eskimos and Coach Rick Campbell from the Ottawa REDBLACKS were announced as the divisional nominees for the 2015 AGF CFL Coach of the Year Award.
"On behalf of our Board of Governors and our entire league, I want to congratulate Chris Jones and Rick Campbell on this tremendous honour, and thank AGF for recognizing outstanding leadership in the CFL and in communities across Canada," added Jeffrey L. Orridge, CFL Commissioner.
For the 2016 CFL Season, AGF will be launching the AGF Community Coach of the Year Award to recognize financial advisors who volunteer their time to coach an amateur sports team and promote the ideals of dedication, sportsmanship and team work.
"AGF believes in the value of advice on and off the field. We see advisors as personal financial coaches," said Goldring. "Advisors are key to helping investors make a game plan to help them achieve their financial goals - whether it's paying off debt, saving to buy a house and or building a retirement nest egg."
The AGF CFL Coach of the Year is selected by voting members of the Football Reporters of Canada. Blake Goldring will present the Award at the already sold out Shaw CFL Awards on Thursday, November 26th in Winnipeg. The 103rd Grey Cup presented by Shaw will be played on Sunday, November 29th at Investors Group Field.
