the 2009 Canadian Investment Awards

Rigorous selection process includes fund performance and strength of money manager as key criteria

TORONTO , Dec. 14 /CNW/ - Agilith Capital Inc. is proud to announce that one of its premiere funds - the Agilith North American Diversified Fund - has been awarded the bronze medal for the Best Hedge Fund Newcomer Award at the 2009 Canadian Investment Awards(TM).

The Best Hedge Fund Newcomer Award is selected across all hedge fund categories that have exhibited superior performance for a fund with a minimum 1-year and less than a 3-year track record.

In its first two years The Agilith North American Diversified Fund, which was launched in October 2007 , generated a total return of 25.4%, almost 45% ahead of the 19.2% decline registered by the TSX over the same period.

With over 20 years of industry experience, Patrick Horan has built a reputation as a top performing mutual fund and pension fund manager. Prior to co-founding Agilith, he co-managed an equity fund that exceeded $1 billion in assets at Legg Mason Canada .

Prior to helping found Agilith Capital, Andrea Horan was a founding partner and Director of Research at Genuity Capital Markets and Westwind Partners prior to that. She received top rankings in both Brendon Woods and Greenwich institutional investor surveys during her 13 years as a sell-side media analyst. She has used her skills in business analysis and valuation in identifying high growth potential and value opportunities for the Fund.
