NORTH BAY, ON, Dec. 15, 2015 /CNW/ - Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (Ontario Northland) and Unifor Local 103 announced today that the collective agreement for all five bargaining units has been ratified. Members voted 88 per cent in favour of the agreement.
"Thank you to our employees for supporting this agreement," said Corina Moore, President and CEO. "This agreement provides stability for employees and our business. It will help us attract more remanufacturing and repair work to North Bay and continue with the enhancement of our rail maintenance centre in Cochrane. The agreement also supports our goal of providing sustainable transportation services for northeastern Ontario."
"We are proud of the work that went into reaching this agreement," says Andy Mitchell, President of Unifor Local 103 "I am pleased our members supported this agreement."
Unifor represents 303 unionized employees working in clerical, on-board service, stores, and shops at various locations throughout northern Ontario. Shopcraft employees will return to work as of Tuesday, December 15th.
