Air China Transports 10,000 Pilgrims to Mecca

<p><location>BEIJING</location>, <chron>Nov. 25</chron> /CNW/ -- Between 30th October to 18th November, Air <location>China</location> transported nearly 10,000 pilgrims to the holy meeting site of <location>Mecca, Saudi Arabia</location>. There are nearly 20 million Muslims in <location>China</location> at present and the number of pilgrims visiting Mecca has increased each year. Air <location>China</location> has been transporting pilgrims on charter flights to Mecca for many years.</p>

<p>Over 30 Air <location>China</location> flights to Mecca departed from <location>Beijing</location>, Lanzhou, Yinchuan and Kunming from 30th October to 18th November. Despite difficulties in changing schedules, inclement weather and complicated flight lines, all Air <location>China</location> journeys were a success. Special meals were provided to passengers according to their religious customs and beliefs.</p>
<p>Air <location>China</location> has arranged for charter flights to return pilgrims from Mecca between the 2nd and 23rd December, after the end of the Hajj festivities.</p>
