FORT ERIE, ON, Sept. 11, 2024 /CNW/ - Forty years ago, Airbus put roots down in Canada when it established its first helicopter manufacturing facility in Fort Erie, Ontario. Today, Airbus Helicopters in Canada has become the leading provider of helicopters that support communities, save lives and protect Canadians through law enforcement, emergency medical services, energy, firefighting, search and rescue, private and business transport, and aerial work. On September 13, 2024, Airbus Helicopters in Canada will host a celebration at their Fort Erie facility. From its first helicopter site built in 1984, Airbus has grown to employ over 4,500 employees across ten plants in the country 40 years later.
Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, Minister Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, and other officials will be present to celebrate Airbus Helicopters in Canada's contributions and achievements in Ontario and across Canada.
What: Media are invited to attend the official event for a photo opportunity which will include a commemorative ceremony, a tour of the manufacturing facilities, and an exclusive aerial tour for media aboard an Airbus H135 helicopter.
Media interested in participating in the helicopter tour and site visit must confirm their interest at least 48 hours in advance for security reasons. Please note that spots are limited.
