Airbus Americas welcomes Director of Procurement for Canada
Joe Marcheschi has decades of experience in Canadian aerospace
HERNDON, VA, Nov. 20, 2013 /CNW/ - As part of its business strategy to continue to grow its supplier network, particularly in North America, Airbus Americas has created a new position in order to nurture its supply chain in Canada. Joe Marcheschi has joined the company as Director of Procurement for Canada, Airbus Americas.
In the new post, Marcheschi is responsible for strategic and procurement marketing activities related to Canada. This includes identifying suppliers, promoting the Canadian supplier base within the Airbus community, leading missions in Canada and supporting Airbus procurement priorities within existing Canadian suppliers. Marcheschi is also the liaison for procurement matters between Airbus and Canadian industrial associations and provincial and federal authorities.
Marcheschi will report directly to David L. Williams, Airbus Americas Vice President, Procurement.
"Joe brings a wealth of knowledge of the Canadian aerospace manufacturing and sub-contractor environment to Airbus," said Williams. "His experience will provide key leadership and direction for our procurement activities and enable Airbus to enhance its presence in Canada."
Before joining Airbus Americas, Marcheschi spent 14 years at Avior Integrated Products, a Quebec supplier of structural assemblies for the international aerospace industry. While there, he served as director of procurement, sales and launch programs, responsible for all new programs, strategic procurement and major sales campaigns. Prior to Avior, Marcheschi worked at Hochelaga Aerospace and Hubbell Canada, Inc.
Marcheschi is a graduate of Ecole Nationale d'Aerotechnique of Quebec, Canada, where he received a degree in aircraft maintenance engineering.
Marcheschi will be based out of Airbus Americas headquarters in Herndon, Virginia.
