SAGUENAY, QC, April 19, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - AirMédic Air Ambulance has been seeking a strategic partner over the past few months to help improve its services and extend their reach throughout Québec. We are proud to announce that Stéphan Huot, a well-known Québec City businessman, has answered our call. Mr. Huot, an aviation aficionado, is the founder of Capitale Hélicoptère, a leading helicopter flight services company.
With his involvement, Mr. Huot is announcing the creation of AIRMEDIC, a new company that will provide heliborne and airborne medical and first responder services, emergency evacuations and inter-hospital transport.
"Combining my passion for aviation with the mission of saving lives is a huge motivating factor. When you consider how the availability of such emergency services can mean the difference between life and death, it is imperative that the entire province have access, particularly those regions that are hard to reach by land or sea," said Mr. Huot.
Stéphan Huot also announced the nomination of two high-caliber professionals Christian Trudeau as CEO, and François Rivard as Director, Aeromedical Operations. Mr. Trudeau has led and developed major companies, including BCE Emergis, Centria Commerce and Transcontinental Interactive. Mr. Rivard has more than 20 years' experience in aeromedical operations, including over 1,500 rescue operations.
"Over the short term, the new company, AIRMEDIC, will continue to provide air ambulance services to members as well as non-members under the current terms and conditions. We have already begun implementing a strategy to improve service and provide first class aeromedical services across the entire province," said new CEO Christian Trudeau.
