AJAs Announces Lifetime Achievement Award
HALIFAX, April 22, 2014 /CNW/ - The Atlantic Journalism Awards is proud to announce that Christine Morris is this year's recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime of dedication to journalism excellence in Atlantic Canada.
In her career, Christine has worked for the region's largest media organizations including CBC, The Chronicle Herald, Canadian Press and most recently, Brunswick News. She has covered large international and national events, such as the 2008 minibus crash that killed seven members of a Bathurst High School basketball team, for which she was nominated for a National Newspaper Award. She spent two years as the Canadian Press Washington Bureau Chief, and has covered politicians and elections in all four Atlantic provinces.
She's well respected among readers and colleagues alike, and is often lauded for her comprehensive and level-headed approach to reporting on politics.
Christine will be honoured at the Atlantic Journalism Awards gala dinner and awards event on May 10, 2014 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. Ticket information at www.AJAs.ca.
