MONTREAL, Oct. 25, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - AkioSoft (www.akiosoft.com) today announced the launch of AkioClinik, its new virtual health care clinic. Using artificial intelligence, this platform is an additional tool for physicians to improve patients' access to health care. The announcement was made in conjunction with the Annual Congress of Family Medicine held in Montreal from October 25-26 at the Bonaventure Hotel where AkioSoft set up a display kiosk.
"AkioClinik is the result of several years of research on artificial intelligence and how it can help general practitioners make faster and more accurate diagnoses while increasing patient access to health care," said Francis Nicloux, president and founder of AkioSoft. "The desired outcome for a teleconsultation is to lead as quickly as possible to professional advice, a prescription or referral for the patient."
The software interacts with the patient through an intelligent questionnaire, which generates questions based on previous answers. After receiving the questionnaire, the physician will make a diagnosis based on the conclusive results identified by the software. These results are generated by complex matrices and continuous deep learning. Obviously, only the certified physician makes the final diagnosis, the software being intended to be a complementary work tool.
"AkioClinik's approach to telemedicine means that the patient and physician no longer need to coordinate their respective schedules for each visit. It saves time and increases efficiency", said Dr. Kahina Bensaadi, who has been a general practitioner at AkioSoft since 2015 and graduated from the Alger's Faculty of Medicine in 2008. "In addition, the electronic clinical note allows access to real-time help levers during a consultation. Therefore, a diagnosis can be more accurate and quicker, and it becomes possible to reduce overdiagnosis."
The artificial intelligence implemented through this platform will enhance the health care services currently offered in Quebec.
