ALBERTA, June 17, 2016 /CNW/ - The 2016 Census of Population is still underway across the country. At this time, census staff are assisting households who have not yet completed their questionnaire. Statistics Canada would like to remind residents in Alberta that it's not too late to complete their census questionnaire.
Census data benefit individuals, families and communities. Completing the census is both a civic responsibility and a legal requirement for all people living in Canada. It means better information about communities, which helps in planning services such as day care centres, schools, skills training for employment, police services, health care and fire protection.
Albertans who need help with the census, want to receive a paper questionnaire, or wish to complete it by telephone are invited to contact the Statistics Canada Help Line at 1-855-700-2016. For more information, please visit the census website www.census.gc.ca.
