Alberta charity wins national recognition as Canadian winner of Internet
contest
EDMONTON, Sept. 13 /CNW/ - The Alberta Association for Community Living (AACL) is the Canadian winner of $30,000 from the APX Alarm Gives Back Project. AACL is thrilled to be receiving these desperately needed funds that will directly benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
APX Alarm recently held an online contest across Canada and the United States in which close to 400 charities competed. Everyone was invited to support the charity of their choice and more than 375,000 votes were cast. The APEX Alarm donation is an outstanding example of how corporations and their employees can make a difference in the world.
AACL received more votes than any other Canadian charity. This is a testimony to the work AACL does in Alberta in supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities and the loyalty we have earned from their families.
APX Alarm CEO, Todd Pedersen and APX Alarm Family Foundation President, Josh Houser will present the Alberta Association for Community Living and its President, Barb MacIntyre with its winner's check at a media conference on Tuesday September 14 at 9:30 a.m. Families and individuals with developmental disabilities will also be in attendance to share their stories on how AACL has made a powerful and hopeful difference in their lives.
