Alberta Court of Appeal dismisses Workum and Hennig appeal of ASC decisions
CALGARY, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - The Alberta Court of Appeal has released Reasons for Judgment that dismiss appeals by Peter J. Workum and Theodor Hennig against decisions by the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) issued in August 2005, June 2008 and December 2008.
The Court of Appeal decision called Alberta (Securities Commission) v. Workum is available on the Alberta Courts website at www.albertacourts.ab.ca.
The ASC is the regulatory agency responsible for administering the province's securities laws. It is entrusted to foster a fair and efficient capital market in Alberta and to protect investors. As a member of the Canadian Securities Administrators, the ASC works to improve, coordinate and harmonize the regulation of Canada's capital markets.
