Alberta hair stylist wins Cover of National Magazine

CALGARY, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - Alberta's Kevin Lewis from Chatters' Calgary Shawnessy location has been named the 2010 Redken Cover Competition Winner. Lewis describes the ten month process of entering the Redken Cover Competition as a dream journey. Lewis, along with six other talented stylist finalists, came to the Redken Exchange in Toronto this past summer for a 3-day professional photo shoot experience. They worked with and were coached by a star line-up of wardrobe, photo and stylist pros as they created their final entry. The looks were then posted online at www.redken.ca for the public to vote for their favorite cover image.

Kevin Lewis says being chosen as the 2010 Redken Cover Competition Winner is "true validation because we all strive to prove ourselves." In addition to this exciting title, Kevin has also secured a one year contract with Ford Models and will work with the professional team at Zink magazine to create the cover of a 2011 issue. You can see Kevin's winning model on the December cover of Canadian Hairdresser Magazine.

Kevin Lewis is currently salon service manager at Chatters Salon, Shawnessy location in Calgary, Alberta. He credits his career advancements to hard work, observing and hands-on training. "I have a desire not just to emulate great work, but to develop my own talent and be original". Kevin is grateful to both Redken and the Chatters family for their support of his career. Kevin's plans include future competitions and to continue embracing the new opportunities as they come his way. "I realize that this process can now be applied to other things whether it be a client consultation or in my personal life. I've learned so much from winning."
