Alberta Premier Alison Redford and PEI Premier Robert Ghiz to co-chair the Public Policy Forum's 27th Annual Testimonial Dinner Français
OTTAWA, Feb. 11, 2014 /CNW/ - For the first time in the Public Policy Forum's history, two sitting Canadian premiers will co-chair the 27th Annual Testimonial Dinner & Awards in Toronto on April 10, 2014.
Alberta Premier Alison Redford and Prince Edward Island Premier Robert Ghiz will join forces onstage at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to help recognize the achievements of an exceptional group of Canadian policy leaders.
"The unprecedented participation of two premiers, one from the West and one from the East, underscores the proudly pan-Canadian nature of the Public Policy Forum's events and activities," said David Mitchell, President and CEO.
The 27th Testimonial Dinner will honour Annette Verschuren, Chair and CEO, NRStor Inc. and former President of Home Depot Canada and Asia; Mary Simon, Chairperson, National Committee on Inuit Education, former President of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, and Canada's first Ambassador for Circumpolar Affairs; Sheila Fraser, former Auditor General of Canada; and Heather Munroe-Blum, former Principal and Vice-Chancellor of McGill University. Veteran Toronto Star writer Susan Delacourt will receive the 2014 Hyman Solomon Award for Excellence in Public Policy Journalism, presented by OpenText.
