Alcan Cable introduces NUAL(R) WIDESTRIPE(TM) RW90 aluminium alloy building
wire as error-free solution in phase identification
As the most recent addition to the NUAL(R) aluminium alloy family of building wire products, NUAL(R) WIDESTRIPE(TM) RW90 single-phase conductor is identified with three wide colour stripes embedded within the surface of the insulation to allow for easy and error-free phase identification.
"The introduction of NUAL(R) WIDESTRIPE(TM) RW90 cable to the Canadian market demonstrates our commitment to providing high quality, sustainable solutions that address our customers' safety and specific market needs," said Dorothy Tully-Petersen, National Sales Manager - Distribution, Alcan Cable. "Like our other NUAL(R) aluminium alloy building wire products, NUAL(R) WIDESTRIPE(TM) RW90 cable is environmentally sound and provides excellent long-term performance."
Consisting of NUAL(R) aluminium alloy conductors, NUAL(R) WIDESTRIPE(TM) RW90 cable weighs half as much as copper conductors of equal ampacity, making it lightweight for easy, safe lifting and handling during installation. Alcan Cable's NUAL(R) WIDESTRIPE(TM) RW90 XLPE insulation also has a higher maximum short-circuit temperature rating than thermoplastic insulation. It does not contain harmful components such as lead and other heavy metals in accordance with RoHS, Directive 2002/95/EC, and is manufactured to minimise adverse environmental impacts.
NUAL(R) WIDESTRIPE(TM) RW90 cable meets or exceeds CSA standards and is approved for use in accordance with the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code. Phase identification striping is available in a range of colours.
