New S90 Debuts with Segment-Leading Rear Leg Room and New Powertrains
NEW YORK, April 12, 2017 /CNW/ - Today, the all-new XC60 made its North American debut at the 2017 New York International Auto Show. The XC60 will have a starting MSRP of $45,900 in Canada and will be available in showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2017. The XC60 will mark the introduction of the new 60 series lineup and will offer a new level of dynamism to the Volvo Car Brand.
The XC60 will be launched as a 2018 model and will be equipped solely with all-wheel-drive capabilities in Canada. There will be three powertrains available at launch: the 250hp T5 turbocharged engine, 316hp T6 turbocharged and supercharged engine, and the 400hp T8 twin-engine plug-in electric hybrid. The XC60 will be available in three trims: Momentum, R-Design and Inscription.
Steer Assist and Oncoming Lane Mitigation are two new safety features that will be introduced on the XC60. Steer Assist is added to the City Safety technology and mitigates head-on collisions; Oncoming Lane Mitigation uses Steer Assist and pairs with Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) to reduce the risk of lane-changing collisions.
The new S90 also made its North American debut today. Originally launched in 2016, the new S90 now offers segment-leading rear leg room standard on the 2018 model year and also adds a panoramic sunroof as a new standard feature. Additionally, T5 and T8 powertrains will be available in Canada later this year, along with the pre-existing T6 engine; all three will be available strictly with all-wheel-drive in Canada. The new S90 will be available in showrooms in the second half of the year.
