All systems go for the party of the year at Hastings Racecourse to honour Mario Gutierrez and his loyalty to Vancouver
VANCOUVER, June 8, 2012 /CNW/ - The celebration to acknowledge Mario Gutierrez at Hastings Racecourse Saturday afternoon will go as scheduled, despite the fact I'll Have Another was scratched early Friday as a starter in the 144th running of the Belmont Stakes.
"Mario will ride three horses at Belmont Park Saturday and will also be aboard I'll Have Another to lead the post parade for the Belmont Stakes. We look forward to his many fans coming out to Hastings Saturday to embrace his success. Everything is a 'go'. We've adopted Mario as our own and that will never change. As far as we're concerned, the party is on," said Howard Blank, Vice President, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.
Saturday's live racing card at Hastings begins at 12:50 p.m. The Belmont Stakes Parade will start around 3:25 p.m. (PST) with the race going at 3:40 p.m. (PST). It will be shown on a large 40-foot screen in the infield as well as hundreds of television sets throughout the Hastings grounds.
As always, there is no admission at Hastings Racecourse and a record crowd is still expected despite the turn of events at Belmont Friday.
Show Mario your support for him! Make Saturday a record day as we pay tribute to a true champion.
