Alliance of Community Medical and Rehabilitation Providers Applauds Task Force Report
PETERBOROUGH, ON, Nov. 26, 2012 /CNW/ - The Alliance of Community Medical and Rehabilitation Providers (the 'Alliance') applauds the final report of the Ontario Automobile Insurance Anti-Fraud Task Force.
"We support the Task-Force's recommendations and welcome the move to greater transparency and accountability in the auto insurance sector", says Nick Gurevich, Chair of the Alliance, an association representing health care providers of post-accident rehabilitation.
"We are heartened by the Task-Force's acknowledgement that reforms to the system should be targeted specifically at fraud and not negatively impact legitimate claimants as some previous reforms have done. We believe that consumers and accident victims will benefit from the implementation of these recommendations.
"Having contributed significantly to these recommendations, the Alliance is looking forward to working closely with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and other stakeholders to ensure that health care providers in the auto insurance sector are well regulated and that best business practice standards are adopted."
The Alliance of Community Medical and Rehabilitation Providers is a non-profit association representing more than 90 service provider organizations employing more than 3500 professionals. It is these physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, chiropractors, psychologists, rehabilitation therapists, social workers, personal support workers and case managers who are the primary providers of healthcare and rehabilitative services to Ontarians who are injured in automobile accidents.
