Allstate Canada Group Donating $20,000 to Alberta Flood Relief
MARKHAM, ON, July 5, 2013 /CNW/ - The Allstate Canada Group of Companies (Allstate Insurance Company of Canada and Pembridge Insurance Company) announced today that it will donate $20,000.00 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist in flood recovery and relief efforts in southern Alberta.
The presence of Allstate's claims professionals on the ground will provide strength, experience and care for our customers as they diligently work to address all claims that have arisen as a result of this disaster. This donation is the company's way of extending a helping hand to all Albertans dealing with this difficult situation.
"Red Cross volunteers and staff from across the country are working around the clock to help families devastated by ongoing flooding in Alberta," says Conrad Sauvé, secretary general and CEO of the Canadian Red Cross. "We are thankful to Allstate Canada for its contribution to our humanitarian mission."
This donation is in line with a core Allstate Canada Group (ACG) value that encourages all agents and employees to look for ways to make the communities where they live and work better places for everyone. "As the areas most affected by this disaster become more accessible, we understand that the work to return these neighbourhoods to normal is only just beginning," said John O'Donnell President and Chief Executive Officer of the Allstate Canada Group of Companies. "This donation is just one of the initiatives ACG will be undertaking to help Albertans recover from this disaster."
This spirit of community involvement that motivated this donation is also the motivating factor in multiple ACG initiatives directed at flood relief. In addition to the $20,000 donation, ACG has made the decision to match Canadian Red Cross Flood Relief donations from employees up to $2,500. Calgary area Allstate Agents will be engaging in volunteer and fundraising efforts that will target specific concerns in their communities and Allstate Canada Agencies across the country will be participating in local flood relief fundraisers.
