Alvin Segal, O.C., appointed Officer of the Order of Canada on July 1, 2010
MONTREAL, July 5 /CNW Telbec/ - Segal Centre Executive Director Manon Gauthier is pleased to announce the appointment of Alvin Segal, O.C., President of the Board of the Segal Centre for Performing Arts, as Officer of the Order of Canada. This appointment recognizes Alvin Segal's significant contribution to the performing arts, as well as his dedication to building intercultural bridges through the arts. Manon Gauthier would also like to express the great pride felt by the Segal Centre board members, the Segal team, and the volunteers and Segal Centre supporters.
Created in 1967 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Order of Canada is the height of Canada's honour system. It recognizes a lifetime committed to the betterment of the community and the enrichment of the nation.
