TORONTO, March 14, 2017 /CNW/ - Alzheimer Society of Toronto (AST) has entered into an exciting partnership to provide a complete range of innovative training for 100% of Integracare's caregiving staff.
"We are thrilled that a home healthcare provider like Integracare is willing to invest in the full suite of our comprehensive dementia care training programs," said Cathy Barrick, CEO of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. "Training personal support workers (PSWs) and other frontline health professionals is one way we know that we can dramatically improve the quality of life for people living with dementia and their families. Through this partnership, Integracare is demonstrating a unique commitment to providing the best possible care for their clients and all Torontonians living with this disease."
Beyond its investment in training its own staff, Integracare will work with AST on key research initiatives and will sponsor a number of Alzheimer Society of Toronto events, supporting AST's mission to provide counselling, support and training that improves dementia care.
"The Alzheimer Society is a leader in dementia care, education and research. They are the trusted expert and leader in this field," said Lee Grunberg, CEO of Integracare. "Integracare is committed to giving our caregivers the best tools available to provide world-class dementia care to our clients and their families."
Integracare will be the presenting sponsor of the Alzheimer Society PSW night – Speakers Series, an educational initiative, geared to personal support workers (PSWs). Integracare will also be a leading supporter of the Walk for Memories and the Unforgettable Evening Gala – fundraising events that raise money to support the Alzheimer Society's programs and services.
