MONTREAL, Nov. 28, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The engineering firm Dessau has been informed today by Quebec's Financial Market Regulator (AMF) that it can once again enter into public contracts in Quebec. The firm is therefore immediately entered into the Register of Firms Authorized by the AMF and will be removed from the Quebec Treasury Board Secretariat's Registry of Non-eligible Firms for Public Contracts (RENA).
"Over the past five months, we have deployed significant efforts to overhaul our governance framework and demonstrate to the AMF that we have implemented all the appropriate systems and controls to permanently meet the integrity requirements expected by the public," stated. Isabelle Jodoin, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "Today, Dessau boasts a governance framework that strengthens the integrity of its administrative practices, ensures business continuity while respecting the highest ethical standards, and provides the required control measures to ensure compliance with the applicable laws and regulations."
Moreover, Dessau has committed to cooperating with authorities further to the provisions of Bill 61, introduced in the National Assembly by the Minister of Justice, Bertrand St-Arnaud, on November 13. Dessau will carefully evaluate the damages that may have been caused by past reprehensible actions in accordance with the guidelines established in Bill 61.
"Moving forward, the quality and expertise of Dessau's technical teams will be supported by solid ethical and governance foundations," added Ms. Jodoin. "We have learned from the trying events of the recent past and hope to continue the tradition of excellence and quality services that Dessau has developed throughout the years thanks to the dedication of its employees and the trust of its clients. The entire management team, along with all our employees, is now focused on bringing the company to the next level."
