TORONTO, April 29, 2014 /CNW/ - Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) has named Isabella Federigi as Director of Programming for AMI's French channel, AMI-télé. Federigi will be based out of Montréal and will report directly to AMI-télé Vice President, Programming and Production, Philippe Lapointe.
With more than seventeen years of experience, Federigi is a veteran in the broadcast industry having spent time at Global Québec, CH Montréal (CJNT) and most recently at Télé-Québec where she was responsible for acquisitions and programming related to drama series and documentaries. Federigi has worn many hats over the years including Programming Supervisor and Station Manager and was instrumental in the rebranding and, in 2009, the subsequent transition of ownership for CH Montréal (CJNT). Federigi is very active in the community and in 1998 was awarded the CanWest Community Spirit Award. In 2013 she was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her continued efforts and involvement in ethnic media and cultural diversity.

AMI was awarded a French license on August 8, 2013 and the channel is scheduled to launch in January, 2015. AMI-télé will be available as part of a basic digital package and will provide French Canadians who are blind or low vision with programming that is both entertaining and relevant to their community, complete with open described video and closed captioning.
