TORONTO, Oct. 26 /CNW/ - The results are in! Joe Pantalone's Cricket Chicken Burger is the official winner of the Duke Pubs Mayor Burger promotion, which began on Monday, October 4th. Pantalone's Cricket Chicken Burger, made with tandoori chicken breast, naan bread and yogurt raita, took 33% of the votes.
It was a fairly close race overall, with George Smitherman's Something for Everyone Burger finishing third with 26% of the votes, right behind Rocco Rossi's Toronto Jobs Mini Banquet Burger Trio. Even though Rossi dropped out of the mayoral race a couple of weeks before the election, his Mayor Burgers performed well and captured 27% of the votes.
Despite a late bump in sales, Rob Ford's Basic Burger, the simple, straightforward budget burger, finished off with only 14% of the Mayor Burger votes.
The Duke Pubs congratulate Joe Pantalone! Pantalone's Cricket Chicken Burger clearly connected with the taste buds of Torontonians!
