NDP Candidate Celebrates Saving $260 on Auto Insurance Thanks to Kathleen Wynne's Liberals
TORONTO, May 6, 2014 /CNW/ - Andrea Horwath's credibility on auto insurance rates has been publicly called into question…by one of her own candidates.
Halton NDP candidate Nik Spohr couldn't be happier with the $260 he's saving this year thanks Ontario Liberal action to reduce rates. Spohr tweeted last week: "Just got my latest car insurance payment update + I'm paying $22 less a month!"
Even though Horwath knows that Ontario Liberals have reduced Auto Insurance rates by 6% on average - confirmed by the independent Financial Services Commission of Ontario and on track to meet our commitment of 15% by next year - she keeps saying the opposite just to suit her political rhetoric.
"families keep seeing auto bills, auto insurance bills, climb even while the government insists the rates are coming down," Horwath falsely stated on Friday.
"Well you know the people I talk to…I can tell you that nobody there has seen any change to their auto insurance rates and in fact everyone is saying their rates are going up," Horwath told Steve Paikin last night on TVO.
Like a lot of things Andrea Horwath has been saying, it sounds good, it just isn't true.
