NORFOLK COUNTY, ON, July 23, 2014 /CNW/ - On Friday July 25, if weather and water conditions permit, Norfolk County resident Annaleise Carr, 16, will attempt a 75-km swim across Lake Erie to raise funds for Camp Trillium. She will enter the water Friday at Presque Isle State Park, Erie PA, and swim to Port Dover beach in Ontario. This world record setting marathon will take about 30 hours to complete.
While Annaleise is swimming, Norfolk County musician Duane Rutter will play a guitar-a-thon. He will finish when Annaleise touches the beach in Port Dover. Both are raising money for Camp Trillium, Rainbow Lake in Waterford, ON, a camp dedicated to assist children with cancer and their families. A media centre will be open at The Beach House, 2 Walker Street, Port Dover beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday July 26. Media boats will be available. A media conference is planned at Camp Trillium in Waterford on Sunday July 27 at 1 p.m.
