Award-Winning Journalist to Join Leslie Roberts As Co-Anchor of the Global Toronto News Hour
TORONTO, April 27 /CNW/ - Global Toronto announced today that esteemed local news personality Anne Mroczkowski will join Leslie Roberts as the new co-anchor of the station's flagship 6pm newscast on June 1st, 2010.

For more than 30 years, award-winning, veteran news anchor Anne Mroczkowski has brought local television audiences the stories that have moved, shaken or stirred their hearts, minds and lives in the GTA. She comes to Global having co-anchored CityTV's primetime newscast for more than two decades. Anne was born in Hamilton, raised in Toronto's Parkdale district and studied journalism at Carleton University and Niagara College. Despite many opportunities to work abroad, she chose to remain in the community she loves so much, where her roots are deep and her commitment to the GTA is one of enduring affection.

Leslie Roberts has been the trusted anchor of the News Hour for almost a decade. A media veteran who hails from a long line of Canadian journalists, Leslie began his storied career in radio and made the jump to television in 1985 at CTV Montreal. After a 'tour of duty' in the United States with TV News in New York in the late 90s, Leslie returned home in 2000 to become a valued member of the Global News family in Montreal. He joined Global Toronto in 2001 and has led its award-winning news team ever since.
