Announcement of Canada's Submission to the Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film

MONTREAL, Sept. 9, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Telefilm Canada invites you to a press conference for the announcement of the feature film that will represent Canada in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 89^th Academy Awards.

For the past six years, Canada has distinguished itself with four nominees in this category: Incendies (Denis Villeneuve), the minority coproduction (Poland-Germany-Canada) In Darkness (Agnieszka Holland), Monsieur Lazhar (Philippe Falardeau) and Rebelle (Kim Nguyen).

Canada's selection is made by a pan-Canadian committee, which comprises 23 voting members representing government agencies and film industry associations.
