ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE APPOINTMENT OF JOSEPH RANDELL AS CHAIR OF THE NATIONAL
AIRLINES COUNCIL OF CANADA
OTTAWA, Dec. 14 /CNW/ - The National Airlines Council of Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph D. Randell as Chair of the Council's Board of Directors, effective December 14, 2010.
President and Chief Executive Officer of Jazz Air LP, Mr. Randell leads one of the world's largest regional airlines. With its headquarters in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jazz employs approximately 5,000 employees and operates to over 80 destinations in North America.
Mr. Randell began his career in the airline industry with Eastern Provincial Airways in 1976. He later helped found Air Nova in 1985 and served as its President. In 1999, he led the consolidation of Air Nova and Air Alliance, the eastern based Air Canada regional carriers. Under his direction, further consolidation led to the creation of Jazz.
He is a former Chairman and past Director of the Air Transport Association of Canada and is presently the only Canadian Director of the Regional Airline Association.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering Degree with distinction from the Technical University of Nova Scotia and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Memorial University in Newfoundland.
