Annual reopening of Canadian Coast Guard search and rescue lifeboat stations across Ontario

SARNIA, ON, April 6, 2018  /CNW/ - The Canadian Coast Guard's seasonally operated lifeboat stations on the Great Lakes, Georgian Bay and St. Lawrence River will reopen on the following dates: 

• April 6 2018: Kingston, Cobourg, Port Weller, Port Dover, Amherstburg
• April 13 2018: Tobermory, Goderich, Meaford
• April 20 2018: Thunder Bay

The Canadian Coast Guard’s seasonally operated lifeboat stations in Ontario will reopen this month. The Coast Guard reminds boaters that waterways remain very cold at this time of year and take much longer to warm up compared to the air. (CNW Group/Fisheries and Oceans Central & Arctic Region)

Emergencies on the water can be reported 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, toll-free (within Canada) at 1-800-267-7270, or via marine VHF radio - channel 16.
