MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 6, 2014 /CNW/ - Shelley-Ann Brown, Olympic silver medalist in bobsleigh, has joined Team World Vision to race in the Mississauga Marathon on May 3rd and 4th, 2014. She joins fellow Olympic silver medalist Cheryl Bernard, who will race for Team World Vision in the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon on June 1st.
As the world competes in Sochi, these Olympians will be training tirelessly to prepare for their respective marathons in the spring -- and raising money for the world's most vulnerable children.
Team World Vision (TWV), a group of marathon runners and World Vision supporters across the country (and around the world), is led in Canada by Leo Tang. Tang is a certified CrossFit Trainer who holds a CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certification and finished first in the Ontario CrossFit Open (Masters).
"We are thrilled to have Shelley-Ann Brown running with us. Along with her fellow Olympian Cheryl Bernard, she is an inspiration to all Canadians. "I pledge to create a better Canada by working with children and inspiring them to be their most excellent selves." - Shelley-Ann Brown, 2010 Olympic medalist
