Applications Being Accepted for the 2014 Jordan Boyd Leadership Awards
BEDFORD, NS, Feb. 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Today, the Jordan Boyd Leadership Award Fund Committee announced that it is accepting applications for the 2014 Jordan Boyd Leadership Awards.
The Jordan Boyd Leadership Award Fund was established in the Fall of 2013, following the sudden and tragic death of 16 year-old Jordan Boyd during his first day of training camp for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Through the generous support of the community, over $75,000 has been raised to date in support of the Jordan Boyd Leadership Award Fund.
"We have been extremely moved by the tremendous support for the Jordan Boyd Leadership Award Fund" said Stephen and Debbie Boyd, Jordan's parents. "We hope that these awards will assist successful applicants realize their academic goals as they move towards the next exciting chapter of their lives. We also receive some comfort knowing that Jordan will continue to positively impact the community."
The Jordan Boyd Leadership Award, in the form of post-secondary entrance scholarships, recognizes individuals in amateur hockey who have demonstrated a passion for sportsmanship, learning, leadership and community. The Jordan Boyd Leadership Award is managed by a committee consisting of members of Jordan's family and independent community members. All funds raised have been put towards the Leadership Award. For more information visit jordanboyd.ca
