Third annual competition adds new categories to reflect the emergent state of e-commerce in Canada
TORONTO, April 24, 2014 /CNW/ - Small, large, leading and emerging e-commerce retailers are invited again this year to submit their application to the biggest competition designed to celebrate and promote Canadian-made e-commerce ideas and strategies. The third annual Canada Post E-commerce Innovation Awards will be held in Toronto on September 23rd in a gala event hosted by TSN broadcaster James Duthie. The Awards offer more than $1 million in free shipping and marketing prizing – the largest in the country.
The biggest change to the Awards is the introduction of new categories. As a leading provider of end-to-end e-commerce and parcel solutions, Canada Post is keenly aware of how quickly online retail is evolving. Categories dedicated to mobile strategies, community outreach, omni-channel integration and more reflect the latest e-commerce battlegrounds.
"As online retail evolves, the Awards will evolve and we remain relevant to the e-commerce community. Our new categories will help us recognize and reward the creative energy that has raised e-commerce in Canada to an exciting new level this past year," says René Desmarais, Senior Vice-President, Parcels, Canada Post.
Companies that conduct all or a portion of their retail business online are invited to apply. Finalists will be announced in August, and will compete to win a share of more than $1 million in free shipping and marketing prizing. The deadline to apply is June 13, 2014.
The 10 categories for the 2014 Canada Post E-commerce Awards are:
- Best Mobile Experience (Large and Small)
- Best E-commerce Shopping Experience
- Best Customer/Community Outreach
- Most Creative Marketing Campaign (Large and Small)
- Most Innovative Start-Up
